Harmen Sipkema, the voice of the Lotto campaign
Lotto, the lottery with the most frequent jackpot in the Netherlands, has been revamped. From 1 February, the Lotto Jackpot falls even more often, thanks to a new jackpot machine. Cash prizes are also going up, to as much as 100,000 euros. Naturally, that calls for an advertising campaign. Lotto had me voice its various ads.
Lotto has a rich history. More than 50 years ago, the yellow and black Lotto balls rolled out of the now iconic draw machine for the very first time. Lotto recently donated this machine to the Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision in Hilversum, to make way for a new, modern draw machine. In 50 years the lottery has largely stayed the same. One of the biggest changes was the switch from 41 to 45 Lotto balls in 1996.
